ATLANTA...The Presbyterian Committee on the Self Development of People (SDOP) was established to assist the Presbyterian Church (USA) in carrying out its global commitment to work toward the self development of economically poor, oppressed and disadvantaged people, who own, control and benefit directly from projects that promote long term change in their lives and communities.
Cornelius Blanding, Federation/LAF Director of Field Operations & Special Projects, serves on the National Committee of SDOP and urges our members, co-ops and groups that meet the criteria of SDOP to inquire about a workshop or apply for these funds. SDOP seeks partnerships with groups of poor, oppressed and disadvantaged people that seek to address systems of poverty, oppression and injustice in their communities. For a list of the SDOP criteria and guidelines, go to the SDOP website at http://www.pcusa.org/sdop. For more information, contact Cornelius Blanding at the Federation/LAF's East Point, Georgia office at 404.765.0991 or call the SDOP National Office in Louisville, KY at 502.568.5791.
