Rural Housing 2003

Acquiring a $238,5000 competitive grant from HUD to hire staff, the Federation/LAF has now expanded its housing program to include both Alabama and Mississippi. Additional examples of accomplishments include: securing an obligation of $577,895 from the Alabama USDA Rural Development Department top begin major rehabilitation of Wendy Hill Subdivision and assisting the Mississippi State Association of Cooperatives in securing a $779,000 grant for construction for agriculture processing workers.
